Cloth Diapers

Cloth Diapers, I love them.  Yep, I'm one of those moms.  Overly passionate about cloth diapers.  I'm a co-leader of our local Real Diaper Association, Low Country Real Diaper Circle.  I'm the Vice President of Cloth For EveryBum, a charity that lends cloth diapers to those that want to cloth diaper, but can't afford the start up costs.  Vice President, is what I think we decided my title is.  It's still a work in process as we start working on our non-profit 501c3 paperwork.  We have a twitter party on Tuesday, March 26th.  Then an online auction from March 29th to April 1st, to help raise money. I never would have thought about volunteering for cloth diaper organizations, if it wasn't for Stacy.  She started LCRDC and C4EB.  She is amazing.  She wanted to start teaching classes, so I volunteered to teach with her.  Then I volunteered for C4EB.  Then I decided to become a leader too.  I'm excited about seeing where we will go.  C4EB has evolved so much in the past year.  We have helped so many families and I hope we continue to help many more.

I started cloth diapering when G was 8 months old.  I wanted to start sooner, but D was against it.  So, I had to use my Christmas money to start our "stash"  12 Kawaii pocket diapers.  I washed diapers every night.  I stored the used diapers in a rubbermaid bin.  I needed more, daily laundry is a bit much, but worked for us. I slowly bought more diapers. I stuck with pockets for a long time.  I bought some GroVias and disposable inserts for traveling.  The inserts didn't work for us. So, the covers sat for a long time, not being used.  Stacy made diapers, the cutest diapers, My Cute Genes, in ACU and pink paisley.  She would even make custom diapers.  But, they were covers and inserts.  They opened a whole new world for me.  I bought prefolds, more covers.  For Abby's first birthday, two years after I started cloth diapering, I bought my first AIO. I'm not the biggest fan of it. It takes too long to dry, and poop is a pain to clean off of it.

Cloth diapers have become my passion.  They have helped me make friends, get involved, volunteer, and be more than a stay at home mom.
